praise the Lord for friends and family

today is saturday, but just barely. it has been a good day, and a pretty good week.

today my brother and his family arrived from ohio for a week long visit. it is a real joy to see all of them and i am looking forward to seeing more of them later in the week.

today also, my good friend keith helped me put the fix on my car's power steering problem. thanks buddy, and thank you Jesus that it worked.

this week was week 5 of my radiation treatments. you may remember back to earlier posts that means i have one week left. unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on how you look at it) that is not the case. on monday my radiation doctor added 6 more radiation treatments to my schedule. so right now, my last treatment is scheduled for april 12, instead of april 2 like before. i'm not too keen about the extra week and a half, but if it is necessary it is necessary. in related news, one of my radiation friends/acquaintances name TL finished his treatments on wednesday, and i was able to 'steal' his scheduled time for the remainder of mine. this is a blessing to me. it means being able to finish a half hour earlier each day

the side effects of radiation and chemo are starting to come round (just like i was told they would about this time in my schedule). i am very tired every night, my hair is falling out at the radiation site, i have sores in the mouth from the chemo, i am worried about blood clots and such. any prayers in those directions would be great.

all in all, things are still going pretty smoothly though. every day i feel bad, God does something to bring me back to perspective. my car is fixed, my family is close by, i got to have lunch or dinner with friends almost every day this week, what's not to love about life.

monday, i do round 2 of my chinese-hamster-ovary-hormone IV chemo avastran. between that, oncology, radiation, and radiation oncology i'll spend most of the day at the hospital.

thank you all for your continued prayers, well wishes, and little things you have been doing these last 7 weeks. i apprecaite it very much, and thank God for you all.

john
