why should i gain from His reward...

okay, here we go with answers from tuesday's trivia:

1. my current dose of temodar, my chemotherapy pills, is 440 mg per day for 5 consecutive days each month.

2. the main ingredient for avastan, my IV chemotherapy, comes from a hormone made in the ovaries of chinese hamsters. i take avastan every other week.

3. this one will be controversial, no doubt. none-the-less, here is the correct list of all movie references in my blog thus far - short circuit, the deer hunter, shadowlands, rio grande, swingers, caddy shack, the matrix, matrix revolutions, pulp fiction, lord of the rings return of the king, and of course the big one - oh brother where art thou.

4. my favorite hymn is it is well with my soul (the one below is a close second).

5. yes, anonymous poster from earlier, this time one year ago i was up in the ICU having just undergone a five hour surgery to remove my first tumor from my brain. as i recall, my first words after having woken up were 'am i dead?' two weeks of recovery, seven weeks of radiation, twelve months of chemotherapy, nine months of blood thinners, lots of prayer, lots of support, two mixed CDs and one year later and i am still alive. this does indeed put me in rare company, as i mentioned last time the one year survival rate for this type cancer is about only 25%. God has been so good to me.

to simply say thank isn't quite enough; but thank you all for your continued prayers and support. thank you Father for this last year. it's not the year i would have chosen for myself; but i am glad for every day of it. praise the LORD!
