one important bit of info i left out of my last post (not intentionally): after hearing the good news about my latest scan from my doctor he recommended 'continuing just like we have been'. at that point i asked him for more information about our long-term strategy dealing with this cancer. long-story-short he said he needed to see at least 6-12 months of clear scans before even considering scaling back the chemo. i found this to be encouraging news and not what i was expecting his response to be. august marks 5 months of clear scans, so chemo continues as scheduled.
the next scheduled one is tomorrow at 1. please join me in praying for that. pray that God gives me strength to endure it. pray the nurses are able to hit veins on the first try, and that they hit the right ones. the last couple treatments of chemo the veins in my arms began to hurt during treatment. their solution was to slow down the pump, use a hot compress on my arm, or remove the IV and try another vein. also, please join me in praying that i will have the strength and energy to get to work every day this week. i am simply out of available leave time and just need to be there.
thank you for your prayers to this point. thank you Father for life; thank you for friends on thursday nights, thank you for my job, thank you for my family, thank you for my church family. thank you that you do love us and you do hear our prayers.
